WORTHINGTON — Rising Hope Ministries will be presenting a workshop on building a Vision Board, which is used to “clarify, concentrate and maintain focus on a specific life goal.” Participants will go step by step through making some achievable goals. Each participant will have the opportunity to create a board using images, phrases and ideas that will help them to focus on accomplishing their goals and reaching their dreams.

It’s a long way to travel for an event during the holiday break, but with 74 teams competing this year, it’s also a good test for his grapplers. DAILY GLOBE WORTHINGTON -- The Mankato West junior varsity boys basketball team jumped out to a big lead early and never let Worthington back into the game as it won 54-35 in the championship game of the Daily Globe Holiday Classic on Friday at Worthington High School. The Scarlets jumped out to a 10-point lead before the Trojans made a basket and led 14-1 and 20-5 before going into halftime with a 20-9 lead.
MOUNTAIN LAKE -- Westbrook-Walnut Grove couldn’t keep up with Legacy Christian in the Mountain Lake Area Tournament Thursday. Legacy moved out to a 32-17 first-half lead and defeated the Chargers 54-41. Cali Weddle scored 16 points and Jadyn Nelson scored 15 to lead the winners. Westbrook-Walnut Grove, which outscored Legacy Christian 24-22 in the second half, was led by Emma Woelber with 20 points and Grace Woelber with 11. Emma also had seven rebounds and four steals.
DAILY GLOBE BLUE EARTH -- The Jackson County Central boys basketball team warmed up for a big rematch in Marshall Thursday with a shooting exhibition against Blue Earth Area in the finals of the Blue Earth Area Tournament. JCC poured 20 3-point attempts through the hoop in beating BEA 92-35.
AUSTIN -- A four-goal first period propelled Winona to an 8-2 victory over Worthington in a girls hockey game Thursday. Sommer Thompson was nearly unstoppable for Winona, which had 50 shots on goal. Thompson scored the game’s first two goals, with the second coming short handed. Sydnee Thompson and Emily Hoven each had a goal in the first period. In the second, Maia Ellenburg scored for the Winhawks before Worthington got on the board.
