Ambulance WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Ambulance was dispatched at 12:35 p.m. Wednesday to the 1100 block of Crailsheim Drive for an adult male. Crashes WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Police Department investigated a crash reported at 10:27 a.m. Wednesday from the 1500 block of Clary Street.
MARSHALL — Thirteen artists within the 18-county region of southwest Minnesota have been awarded Individual Artists grants from Southwest Minnesota Arts Council (SMAC) for a total of $38,520. This is the second round of Individual Artists grants given this fiscal year. The third round was decided on April 25 and will be released to the public soon.
PIPESTONE — The next speaker in the Pipestone County Museum’s 2017 Brown Bag Lunch series is Colleen Hondl Gengler, author of the book “Under Minnesota Skies.” She is scheduled at noon May 18. “Under Minnesota Skies” is a memoir of three daughters of German and Czech heritage growing up on a farm near Owatonna in the 1940s, ’50s and ’60s. The author will focus on the immigrant experience during those decades.
SHELDON, Iowa — Village Northwest Unlimited will host the 12th annual benefit Run, Walk & Roll event on June 3 in Sheldon. Races will include a 5K run, 10K run and a 1-mile walk/roll; all will begin at 8 a.m. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged before May 24 to guarantee a shirt before the race.
SIBLEY, Iowa — A Sibley man has died as a result of injuries he sustained in a Sunday dirt bike crash. Bryan Clark, 23, died Monday at Sioux Falls hospital, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office. Clark had suffered injuries when his dirt bike crashed Sunday in a ditch on the north side of Fifth and 170th streets near Golf View Drive. The sheriff’s office received a report of the crash at approximately 4:50 p.m.

ROCK RAPIDS, Iowa — A Little Rock, Iowa man is facing multiple charges following investigation of an April 23 incident at his home. According to a Lyon County Sheriff’s Office press release issued Tuesday, Joe Pedersen has been charged with seven counts of felony possession of firearms (Class D felonies) and one count of child endangerment (an aggravated misdemeanor). He was arrested and transported Monday to the Lyon County Jail, where he later posted a $10,000 bond and was released.
INDIANAPOLIS — A Worthington farmer and the Worthington Area YMCA are seeking voters’ support in order to make a difference in the community. Matt Widboom is one of 10 finalists in the Power to Do More contest sponsored by Resicore corn herbicide from Dow AgroSciences. In his entry, Widboom’s photo shows the power on his family farm, which comes from raising the fourth generation. Widboom nominated the Worthington Area YMCA as a community organization deserving of a $10,000 donation.
