WORTHINGTON — Changes to today’s Worthington Warriors Special Olympics fundraiser event have been made as a result of the weather forecast. Instead of the high school track, the event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Worthington Elks Lodge. Opening ceremonies will begin at 11 a.m., and a lunch of pulled pork sandwiches with chips and a drink will be served at that time.

Montana Beckmann collected three hits and Brooklyne Miller had two as the Rebels accounted for 10 hits in all. The home team scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning -- all that was needed.

ST. CLOUD -- Anyone who’s ever played a significant amount of baseball can tell you that slower pitchers can upset a team’s timing. That was the story Thursday afternoon as the Minnesota West Community and Technical College baseball team was shocked, 3-2, by Rainy River in the first round of the Region XIII tournament. Rainy River, seeded seventh in the double-elimination tournament to Minnesota West’s second, hypnotized the Bluejays hitters in a way that no one had reason to expect.
WORTHINGTON — The El Riad Shrine Circus, sponsored by the Worthington Area Shrine Circus, will have performances at 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. June 22 at the Worthington Hockey Arena.
