"I'm a journalist who interviews people who I disagree with all the time." -- Sean Hannity, 2008 "I never claimed to be a journalist." -- Sean Hannity, 2016 WASHINGTON -- Not since lawmakers diagnosed Terri Schiavo's condition from the Senate floor has there been such medical quackery in the political realm.
WASHINGTON -- All Americans should be alarmed by Donald Trump confidant Roger Stone's suggestion that Trump claim Hillary Clinton is trying to steal the election.
ASHBURN, Va. -- Maybe this is how it ends for Donald Trump: not with a bang but with a child's whimper. The Republican presidential nominee, rallying supporters in a high school auditorium here, was talking about Chinese currency manipulation when an infant began to cry.
WASHINGTON -- Donald Trump's long-tortured relationship with the truth is nearing a point of total estrangement. The Republican presidential nominee tweeted over the weekend that rival Hillary Clinton and her fellow Democrats "are trying to rig the debates" by scheduling them during NFL games. (In fact, the bipartisan debate commission, independent of parties and candidates, announced the dates on Sept. 23, 2015.)
PHILADELPHIA -- Watching Hillary Clinton become the first woman to be nominated for president has inspired women at the Democratic National Convention to celebrate this singular moment. They put on temporary tattoos that said "Run like a girl" and "Pantsuit Up" and mugged for photos. They slapped stickers on their chests that read "A woman's place is in the White House" and "Women Can Stop Trump." They wore T-shirts featuring a donkey wearing red pumps and the words "It's time."
PHILADELPHIA -- Donald Trump never met a conspiracy theory he didn't like -- until now. He has dabbled in, among other things, the notion that President Obama is a Muslim born in Kenya, that Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia was murdered and that Ted Cruz's father was involved in the JFK assassination.
CLEVELAND -- It was a grand old party at Quicken Loans Arena on Thursday night. Delegates wore cowboy hats, straw hats, tricorn hats, stovepipe hats, cheesehead hats, evergreen hats and Uncle Sam hats. They bopped to the music of a seven-piece band and waved red, white and blue pompoms. There was a Donald Trump action figure here, a Donald Trump superhero cape there -- and little sign of the NeverTrump dissension that marred the early days of the convention.
CLEVELAND -- The Trump campaign has lately alternated between disaster and farce: the awkward rollout of Mike Pence, the botched logo, two parliamentary disputes on the convention floor, a muddled message, a plagiarized speech by the would-be first lady. But in one respect, the Republican National Convention of 2016 has been a huge success. It is the triumph of narcissism.
CLEVELAND -- Roger Stone, longtime confidant and informal adviser to Donald Trump, removed his all-access convention credentials and ascended the stage at Citizens for Trump's America First Unity Rally on Monday afternoon. Stone, wearing a yellow linen suit, white saddle shoes and suspenders, explained that he was late because "I had some meetings that I had to conclude over at the Westin with members of the Trump staff."
WASHINGTON -- It was just another week in Donald Trump's (white) America First campaign. At least twice, Trump alleged that people have called for a "moment of silence" for the madman who killed five police officers in Dallas at a Black Lives Matter protest.
