SUPERIOR, Wis. — The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced Saturday, April 28, that the air quality is improving around the site of Thursday's explosion and fire at the Husky Energy refinery in Superior.
HIBBING, Minn. — Funeral arrangements have been announced for one of the four family members who died from injuries suffered in a house fire earlier this week in Hibbing. Visitation for 9-year-old Todd Jacob Gillitzer Jr. will take place Friday, Dec. 29, from 4-7 p.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson, Minn., continuing from 9:30 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. Mass at the church on Saturday.

Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton long has been opposed to legalizing marijuana, siding with law-enforcement concerns that legalization, even for medical reasons, opens the door to a rise in drug use and drug-related criminal activity. But the governor last week showed he can be open-minded on the issue, too, and that he’s sympathetic to people who truly are suffering and who truly could be helped, especially children.
