WORTHINGTON — After 29 years of owning and operating Mark's Towing & Repair, Mark and Lori Nelson of Worthington have sold the towing portion of the business. The buyer is Pulver Motor Service of Rochester, owned by Mark Shafer. Accordingly, the Nelsons' business also has a new name: Mark's Auto Repair.

The sale mutually benefits both parties. The Nelsons would like to "semi-retire" to spend more time with their children and grandchildren, Lori Nelson said. Shafer says he is looking to grow his business, and since Pulver also has a location in Marshall, Worthington is a good fit.

"We hope to work together," Mark Nelson said. The Nelsons encourage their customers to call Pulver for their towing needs. Pulver will tow vehicles to Mark's, if desired.

"We will do whatever it takes to help people," Shafer added.

Along with the towing business, Pulver bought the phone number for Mark's. Mark's Auto Repair has a new phone number of (507) 372-7131.

Pulver will still operate 24 hours a day, and Mark's is now open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. They will share the space at 1566 Rowe Ave.

"We hope to work together for many years," Lori Nelson said.
