WORTHINGTON - After a few minor construction snags, Interstate Cenex is ready to re-open, and will unveil its new facility at a grand re-opening at 8 a.m. Monday.
The station on Humiston Avenue has been closed since September 2018 for a remodel. Operated by Cooperative Energy Co. out of Sibley, Ia., Interstate Cenex is member-owned and focuses on Service, Value and Trust.
Cooperative Energy Marketing and Communications Specialist Beth VanderZee explained the new-and-improved features guests can expect. New fuel tanks and dispensers ensure the best possible fuel. Pumps are farther apart than they used to be, allowing a little more elbow room while filling up. And, she said, “customers won’t even recognize” the new store interior.
“Perhaps most exciting is the introduction of our Piccadilly kitchen,” added VanderZee, explaining that there will be pizza by the slice as well as made-to-order whole carryout pizzas.
Interstate Cenex will also offer grab-and-go meals. The kitchen will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
VanderZee encourages patrons to stop in and check out the remodel.
“We truly appreciate the patience of our regular customers and members throughout this remodel process,” she said. “We understand how much of an inconvenience it was for many of you, and we hope that you approve of all the great things we’ve done to your Interstate Cenex C-store.”
