ORANGE CITY, Iowa — A multi-state Beef Quality Assurance Transportation workshop is planned from 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 10 at Sioux Falls Regional Livestock near Worthing, S.D.

This certification is needed for beef cattle haulers and producers who deliver cattle to major packing plants. The workshop will cover transporter safety, timely delivery of cattle and comfortable transportation for the animals. It will include a classroom presentation and trailer walk-through discussion.

Those unable to attend may visit bqa.org to complete the curriculum.

Several major packers will not accept cattle from transporters who are not BQA Transportation certified starting Jan. 1. Transporters include both farmer feeders and commercial truckers hauling directly to a packing plant.
