Crop Pest Management short course offered

MINNEAPOLIS — University of Minnesota Extension is hosting a Crop Pest Management short course in conjunction with the Minnesota Crop Production Retailers trade show Dec. 10-12 at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

Geared to agronomy professionals, the event includes a variety of sessions, including technical service provider training that covers nutrient management, integrated pest management, the latest versions of NRCS wind and water erosion tools and pest management software.

Keynote speaker David Okerlund will deliver an address titled “Making the Best of the Challenges in Agriculture,” while soil health specialist Anna Cates and Iowa farmer Mitchell Hora will lead a panel discussion on soil health, “Not Smarter Than Dirt.”

Pesticide applicator recertification will also be offered Dec. 10 and 11.
