ST. CLOUD -- Brian and Kathy Chapa of Ellsworth, owners of Ellsworth Locker, were recently honored for entries at the 2017 Minnesota Meat Processors Convention, which was hosted at the St. Cloud Civic Center.
The Chapas earned the following recognition: grand champion, bone-in ham; reserve grand champion, dried beef; reserve grand champion, jalapeno pepper jack brats; champion, pork links; champion, beef jerky; champion, Minnesota brats; and reserve champion, supreme pizza brats.
Twenty-four entrants took part in the competition in representing the states of Minnesota, South Dakota and North Dakota. A total of 408 meat products were entered in 26 different categories.
