ROCK RAPIDS, Iowa - About a year after its groundbreaking, the Sanford Health Rock Rapids Clinic will open its doors at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
A grand opening will follow from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, which will include tours of the new facility.
Sanford Rock Rapids Senior Director Tammy Loosbrock said the clinic is unique because it will offer “a lot of outpatient functionality in a clinic environment.” In addition to 10 clinic exam rooms, two procedure rooms and two rehabilitation treatment rooms, the clinic will offer a host of other services normally available only in hospitals - including radiology and general and vascular surgery.
“We are excited to have this beautiful new building with state-of-the-art technology all in a location that is easy to get to,” Loosbrock said.
The clinic is located at 104 Buncombe Drive, near the intersection with Iowa 9. It’s a 9,600-square-foot facility, including educational space and a community room.
When the public comes to check out the new facility, “I think they’re going to be impressed with how the building looks,” Loosbrock continued.
Loosbrock said the open house will feature a coloring contest for kids. When each child turns in their coloring page, they will receive a coupon for a free ice cream cone at Slade’s and will be entered in a drawing for a bicycle.
