ISU Extension offers farmland leasing meetings

Meetings slated within the next week.


SPIRIT LAKE, Iowa — Iowa State University Extension and Outreach’s annual Farmland Leasing meetings for ag property owners, tenants, ag business representatives and lenders will be offered in the upcoming weeks.

Each workshop will focus on current farmland value and lease rate trends, methods for determining fair ag rents for 2022 and farmland lease communication and legalities, including how to write and terminate a lease.

Upcoming workshop dates and locations include:

  • Aug. 5, 9 a.m., Dickinson County Community Building, 1602 15th St., Spirit Lake; Preregister to (712) 336-3488.

  • Aug. 11, 3 p.m., Northwest Iowa Community College, Building A, Room 119, 603 W. Park St., Sheldon; Preregister to (712) 957-5045.

  • Aug. 12, 9 a.m., Forster Community Center, 405 South Second Ave., Rock Rapids; Preregister to (712) 472-2576 or (712) 754-3648.

Meetings are approximately 2.5 hours in length and all registrants receive a leasing arrangement book, as well as access to research-based resources from ISU Extension and Outreach. There is a registration fee.
