The saying "If it sounds too good to be true it is!" -- that's what this law is. Anti-worker and business backed groups are pushing to pass a so-called "right to work" law here in Minnesota. Supporters claim these laws create economic prosperity, but many different studies show that Minnesota working families are far better off than working families in states with "right to work" for less laws.

Right-to-work laws hurt economic development by driving wages for all workers down. Median income here in Minnesota is $9,762 higher than the average median income in states with "right to work" laws. What would your family do with less income? It's hard to have extra money now.

Employers in right-to-work states are less likely to offer their workers benefits, and workers are currently losing health insurance 70 percent faster than in non-right to work states. Workplace safety suffers, and right-to-work states have lower investment in school funding.

This anti-middle class amendment makes it harder for workers to join together to strive for better wages and benefits. This law is being pushed nationally, not by workers but by big political donors that put corporate greed before working families and the middle class. Please contact your local representatives to stop corporate greed.
