WORTHINGTON — A fun day of shopping, socializing and creating will fill the 10th annual Sassy Saturday celebration in Worthington and Round Lake on Saturday, with 25 area businesses offering great deals and classes to celebrate women.

The day will kick off with a 9 a.m. drive-thru style show at the Nobles County Fairgrounds, 1600 Stower Dr., in Worthington. The first 150 people to arrive will each receive a free gift bag filled with goodies from participating businesses, as well as a $5 voucher for lunch at the Hy-Vee Market Grille thanks to sponsors Avera Medical Group Worthington & Access Health.

“The goodie bags are awesome this year,” said Roberta Fultz, advertising manager of The Globe, which sponsors Sassy Saturday with Sanford Worthington. “Line up early to make sure you get a goodie bag.”

The style show will feature several women modeling outfits that can be purchased at local shops. Attendees will be invited to tune into The Globe Minute podcast to learn about each of the items being modeled. US95 and Rock It FM on-air personality Hayley Brandl will lend her voice to the podcast.

Marthaler Worthington, which is sponsoring the style show, will also have a display of vehicles at the show.

“It’s going to be a great shopping day and a chance to explore all of the shopping in Worthington,” Fultz said, adding that each participating store will have a box set out for people to register for the grand prize drawing. “You can sign up for the drawing at every location, so you can potentially sign up 25 times for the grand prizes.”

Two grand prize gift baskets will be given away at the end of the day — one of which will include $100 in Worthington Chamber Checks and one with $50 in Chamber Checks. Both will include lots of gifts from participating businesses.

“This is a great event about shopping local and supporting local businesses,” Fultz said. “We are so excited to show off everything we have in the community.”
