ST. PAUL — University of Minnesota Extension announced Monday that it is cancelling its annual Field School for Ag Professionals this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The in-person, hands-on learning experience that has become a 30-year tradition was originally planned for July 28-29.
“We explored other ways to deliver Field School but it's important to us to host an inclusive event and it just didn't feel right to do it any other way,” said Extension staff David Nicolai, Larisa Hamblin Jenrich and Jochum Wiersma. “We will continue to develop our educational programming, like the CPM Short Course and Research Update for Ag Professionals, for this fall and winter. Federal, state and University of Minnesota guidelines will shape how and when we will deliver those to you.”
