SPENCER, Iowa — Pork producers, veterinarians and other allied industry partners are invited to attend “Managing Your Unseen Employee: The Ventilation System — Vent 101: Ventilation Basics” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 31 at the Spencer Ag Center.
Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach Swine Specialist Dave Stender and ISU Assistant Professor of Ag and Biosystems Engineering Brett Ramirez will lead the workshop, which focuses on the basics of ventilation systems, effective temperature control and requirements and troubleshooting tools and techniques.
Attendees will have the opportunity to view and participate in hands-on learning in a 24-foot trailer fully equipped with a functioning ventilation system to demonstrate fan, inlet and controller management.
