WORTHINGTON - The Worthington Municipal Liquor Store will be open on Sundays starting Aug. 6, with hours of noon to 5 p.m.
In March, Gov. Mark Dayton signed a bill allowing liquor stores to sell liquor on Sundays, repealing the state’s 159-year prohibition.
The Worthington City Council at its June 12 meeting authorized city staff and liquor store management to be open sometime after Saturday, the first day Sunday liquor sales will be legal In Minnesota.
With the increased number of hours of operation for the week, store manager Dan Wycoff said there will be an opportunity for more part-time hours for those interested, mainly nights and weekends.
