WORTHINGTON — The Community Image Committee of the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce has decided to postpone the Holiday Parade until 2021.
The committee, meanwhile, has opted to move forward with the Holiday Lighting Contest. Businesses throughout Worthington are encouraged to decorate their storefronts or create an outdoor display to help get customers into the holiday spirit. The contest is open to both residential homes and businesses with the following criteria for judging being used: best use of color, most original, best composition, most spectacular or best expression of Christmas.
Worthington residents or businesses that would like to be included must have lights up and on by Dec. 6. The committee will be driving around Worthington Dec. 7–11 to take pictures of the top decorated homes and businesses throughout the community. The photos will then be posted on the Chamber’s Facebook page and put to a public vote.
First-, second- and third-place prizes will be awarded. The winners will be announced on Dec. 21. Worthington Public Utilities and RE/MAX Premier Realty are prize sponsors.
