Backpack giveaway set for Aug. 22

WORTHINGTON — Backpacks and school supplies for children who live in Nobles County and will be attending kindergarten through fourth grade will be given out from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 22 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 230 Clary St. Children must be present to receive the backpacks and supplies.

The program is made available from donations given by people, churches, service organizations and businesses of Nobles County. Monetary donations are still being accepted, and checks should be made out to Manna Food Pantry/Backpacks, 230 Clary St., Worthington 56187.

Additional volunteers are needed for setup beginning at 9 a.m. Aug. 21 and distribution starting at 8;30 a.m. Aug. 22.
