WORTHINGTON - The Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota (BikeMN) will hold an event from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Nobles County offices to train ambassadors for the Walk! Bike! Fun! program.
Safe Routes to Schools Program Manager Michelle Kiefer explained that the training is a workshop for adults about events they can plan in the community to engage kids and promote pedestrian and bicycle safety.
Kiefer said the program is for all kinds of people: bike enthusiasts, law enforcement, community education teachers and people who like kids. All are welcome.
BikeMN also offers a curriculum for physical education teachers who would like to use it in the classroom.
The purpose of ambassadors is to partner with the schools in teaching and encouraging kids’ safety in the community.
