WINONA — Catholic Charities of Southern MN has started a “Worthington Deanery COVID Relief Fund.”
The fund is intended to help people in the area (the counties of Rock, Pipestone, Nobles, Murray, Jackson and Cottonwood) who have reduced income (lost employment or reduced hours) because of the COVID outbreak, and do not qualify for other means of assistance (unemployment, stimulus money, etc.). It will help those who have “fallen through the cracks” with rent or utilities up to $500.
The fund is currently supported solely by donations. Gifts may be mailed to: Catholic Charities of Southern MN, 111 Market St., Suite #2, P.O. Box 379, Winona 55987.
Checks should be made payable to “Catholic Charities” but it’s very important to designate the gift by writing “Worthington COVID Relief” in the memo line of the check.
People in need who wish to apply for assistance may contact Lisa Kremer at 360-3423 or by email at lkremer@ccsomn.org .
