The City of Worthington Planning Commission will hold four public hearings on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, for the purpose of considering the following Planning Commission business:

  • Variance - Doug Nau has submitted a variance application for property he owns at 620 Lake Street If approved, the applicant would be permitted to increase the impervious coverage of the said property from the permitted 40% to 42.8% for the construction of a single family dwelling with attached garage. The legal description for the property to be considered is as follows:

Lot 11 except the northeast 100 feet, Block 21, Subdivision of Blocks 20, 21, & 22 in Worthington, Nobles County, Minnesota.

  • Special Use Permit - Worthington Area Learning Academy has submitted an application for a special use permit for property owned by Mark Ossenfort at 1530 Rowe Avenue. If approved, the applicant will be allowed to operate an elementary/junior high school on the subject property. "Public institutional" land uses, which includes public/private schools (non-secondary), are permitted as a special use permit in the "B-3" & "M-1" districts, which are the zoning classifications of the subject property. The legal description of the subject property under consideration is as follows:

The public hearings will be held in the City Council Chambers, at City Hall, 303 Ninth St., Worthington, Minnesota, at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 7, 2009. At the hearings, the Planning Commission will hear staff's report and public testimony and may take action. All interested persons are invited to attend and be heard.
