TRACY - More than $1,400 was raised Sunday at the “Cookoff for Chris” event at the Breezy Barn on Lake Shetek.

The event, hosted by Verna & the Pelican Pontoon Pussycats, was coordinated to help the family of Chris Noakes Quick with funeral, medical and travel expenses. Quick had a major stroke May 17 and died May 29 at Sanford in Sioux Falls, S.D.
