Dutch-themed Christmas Coffee planned at NCHS

WORTHINGTON -- The Nobles County Historical Society will host a Christmas Coffee from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Nov. 28, at the museum, 407 12th St., Worthington.

WORTHINGTON - The Nobles County Historical Society will host a Christmas Coffee from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Nov. 28, at the museum, 407 12th St., Worthington.

Reservations are requested by Nov. 23 by calling the society office at 376-4431.

The event will feature a Dutch theme, with banketstaaf (an almond bar), stroopwafel (a Dutch cookie), appel taarten (an apple tart) and koffie on the menu. In addition, Mary Rydeen will give a talk about the settlement of Leota, a Dutch community in Nobles County.

“I’ll talk about how the Dutch are responsible for a lot of American traditions,” Rydeen said.
