WORTHINGTON: Worthington Middle School will host a Veterans Day program at 8 a.m. Thursday in the middle school gym. There will be performances by the Festival Singers and orchestra along with speeches by several middle school students. A breakfast for the veterans will follow.

Prairie Elementary invites all veterans to a free Veterans Day breakfast on Friday. The breakfast will be in the Prairie Elementary gymnasium at 7:30 a.m., and the program will begin at 7:45 a.m. Military uniforms are welcome.

St. Mary’s School will host a Veterans Day program at 9 a.m. Monday at the school, 1206 Eighth Ave. There will be patriotic songs performed by students and refreshments afterward,

Worthington High School will host its Veterans Day program at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the WHS gym. Darwin Eugene 'Joe' Johansen will be honored. There will be student speakers and a performance by WHS Trojan Band. The program is organized by the sophomore class officers: Matthew Becker, Adiyam Gebremedhin, Levi Kuhl, Brigette Rosenberg and Riley Widboom.

A program honoring all veterans is planned at 7 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 14) at Living Waters Covenant Church, 1645 S. Shore Dr. All veterans will be honored, with special recognition for Vietnam veterans and their families.



ADRIAN: Adrian High School will host a Veterans Day program at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the school gym. Organized by Adrian National Honor Society students, the program will include special music from the Adrian music department, color guards of area veterans groups, and readings and presentations to honor veterans. Area veterans and their spouses are invited to a free breakfast prior to Veterans Day ceremonies at Adrian High School, with serving from 8:15 to 9 a.m. in the concession area on the west side of the high school gym. BREWSTER: A Veterans Day program will begin at 9 a.m. Monday at the Brewster American Legion Post 464. The program will include music by students in kindergarten through eighth grade.

The 42nd annual Nobles County Council Veterans Day Supper will take place Monday at Brewster American Legion Post 464. Social hour will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., with a roast pork loin meal and program to follow.



EDGERTON: Southwest Minnesota Christian School, Edgerton, will host a Veterans Day program at 2 p.m. Monday at the school, 550 Elizabeth St.



FULDA: A Veterans Day program will begin at 10 a.m. Monday in the gymnasium at Fulda High School, 410 N. College Ave.



GEORGE, Iowa: A Veterans Day program will begin at 10 a.m. Monday in the auditorium of George-Little Rock High School, 500 E. Indiana Ave., George.



HARDWICK: There will be a Veterans Day Banquet on Monday at the Legion Hall in Hardwick. Social hour will begin at 6 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m. Guest speaker is Gunnar Oldre, 2019 Boys Stater and Minnesota Senior Senator to Boys Nation. Open to the public. Special patriotic music by Bruce Dysthe. Sponsored by the Hardwick American Legion.



HILLS: A Veterans Day program will be at 9 a.m. Monday at Hills-Beaver Creek High School.



JACKSON: Jackson County Central High School will host a Veterans Day program at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the high school auditorium.

Riverside Elementary will host a Veterans Day program at 1 p.m. Monday in the school’s gymnasium.



JEFFERS: The Jeffers American Legion Post 401 will host a Veteran’s Day celebration honoring American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary members with extended service at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Jeffers Senior Center. A $12 meal catered by the Jeffers Meat Market will be served prior to the program.



LAKEFIELD: The Jackson County Central Middle School and Plesantview Elementary in Lakefield will host a 9:30 a.m. Veterans Day program honoring veterans at the middle school auditorium.



LAKE PARK, Iowa: A 1 p.m. Monday Veterans Day program at Harris-Lake Park middle/high school in Lake Park, Iowa will feature guest speaker Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Naweji, pastor of the Harris and Lake Park United Methodist Church.



LUVERNE: A Veterans Day reception will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the Herreid Military Museum, 213 E. Luverne St.

A Veterans Day program will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Luverne High School Gymnasium, 709 N. Kniss Ave.



MOUNTAIN LAKE: A Veterans Day program will be at 8:15 a.m. Monday at Mountain Lake High School. Speaker will be District 22B Rep. Rod Hamilton. The school band and choir will perform.



OKABENA: A 2:15 p.m. Veterans Day program honoring veterans will be held Monday at the Heron Lake-Okabena High School Gymnasium in Okabena. The guest speaker is to be determined.



PIPESTONE: The Pipestone American Legion will host a community dinner, 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at 117 S Hiawatha Ave. The menu is smoked pork loin roast, baked potato, vegetable, dinner roll and dessert. Take out is available. Tickets are sold at the door and proceeds benefit American Legion Post 6.

Pipestone Area Schools will host a Veterans Day program at 8:30 a.m. for the high school and 10 a.m. for the middle school in the auditorium, 1401 Seventh St. S.W., Pipestone.



ROCK RAPIDS, Iowa: A program to celebrate Veterans Day will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Central Lyon High School, 1010 S. Greene St., Rock Rapids.



SHELDON, Iowa: Sheldon Middle School, 310 23rd Ave., will host a Veterans Day program at 8:30 a.m. Monday.

Sheldon High School, 1700 E. Fourth St., will host a Veterans Day program at 1:20 p.m. Monday.

Sheldon Christian School, 1425 E. Ninth St., will host a Veterans Day program at 8:45 a.m. Monday.



SIBLEY, Iowa: A Veterans Day observance will take place at 10 a.m. Monday in the Sibley-Ocheyedan High School gymnasium.



SLAYTON: Murray County Central will host a Veterans Day program at 2 p.m. Monday in the central gymnasium of the high school, 2420 28th St., Slayton.



WALNUT GROVE: The Westbrook-Walnut Grove Elementary School in Walnut Grove will host a 2 p.m. Monday Veterans Day program featuring musical performances from students. The guest speaker will be Paul Konechne, a Rock Rapids, Iowa native. A South Dakota State University graduate in electrical engineering, Konechne is a veteran who served in Iraq from 2003 to 2004 and in the National Guard from 1996 to 2005.



WESTBROOK: A Veterans Day program honoring veterans will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at the Westbrook-Walnut Grove High School, 344 Eighth Street, Westbrook. Guest speaker will be W-WG Junior/Senior High School Counselor Mona Ourada.



WILMONT: The Wilmont VFW will host its Veterans Day observance with a potluck meal beginning at noon Sunday. A short program will follow. All are welcome.



WINDOM: American Legion Post 206 and the Ladies Legion Auxiliary will lead its 34th Veterans Day program at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Windom Area High School gymnasium. Guest speaker is Command Sergeant Major Juan Esquivel. Esquivel leads the 834th Aviation Support Battalion in St. Paul. He has earned two Bronze Star medals among numerous other medals. The high school band and mass choir will also perform during the program.
