PIPESTONE — The Pipestone National Monument invites children ages 6 to 12 to register for the 2nd annual Ranger for a Day Camp, planned from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
Camp attendees will engage in a variety of outdoor, hands-on activities involving Dakota language and culture, plant and animal identification, archaeology, geology and more. Each child will also create a personalized craft to bring home.
The Great Plains Zoo will present an afternoon program introducing campers to some of their ambassador animals.
The program is limited to 10 participants and advance registration is required. To reserve your space(s), please call (507) 825-5464, ext. 214. Campers will need to bring a sack lunch and water. In keeping with MN Department of Health guidance, Ranger Day Campers are encouraged to wear cloth face coverings.
