LUVERNE — The second annual Love the Burger Battle, sponsored by the Rock-Nobles Cattlemen’s Association, kicks off Aug. 17 and will continue through Sept. 15.
Participating Luverne restaurants will showcase a classic American beef hamburger specially crafted for the burger battle. People are encouraged to visit each of the restaurants, order the burger battle burger and then rate it to help determine who will win at the end of the contest.
Customers will assign up to five points in each of five categories (patty, presentation, toppings, bun, customer service) for every featured burger they try. The burger with the highest average points at the conclusion of the battle will be declared the winner and receive a traveling trophy from the Rock-Nobles Cattlemen’s Association.
Participating Rock County restaurants include the 75 Diner, Howling Dog Saloon, Sterling’s Cafe & Grille and Vinnie’s Dang Fine Dine, all of Luverne; the Green Lantern Bar and Grill of Hardwick; Hidden Hills Café & Hideaway Tavern in Hills; the Magnolia Café in Magnolia and
SpringBrooke Events, Golf & Grill in Beaver Creek.
Customers who participate will be entered to win in restaurant gift card drawings. During the contest period, each restaurant will give away $50 worth of dining gift cards and the Rock-Nobles Cattlemen will match the gift. A total of $800 will be given to 80 diners.
The event is coordinated by the Luverne Area Chamber & CVB.
