WINDOM — The Sons of Norway Stavanger Lodge 1-538 will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, at the Cottonwood Co. Historical Society, 812 Fourth Ave., Windom.
The 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation was observed in 2017 in Germany. Van and Marcia Johnson, of Jackson, travelled with a group from Albert Lea on a Nawas International tour lead by their former pastor, John Holt.
Marcia will share highlights of the trip, “In the Steps of Martin Luther,” that include Mainz, the home of Johannes Gutenberg and the first printing press; Erfurt, Eisleben and the Wartburg Castle, which were important sites in the life of Martin Luther; and Wittenberg, the home of the Castle Church and the Protestant Reformation.
The group also visited Berlin, Dresden, Leipzig, Coburg, Nuremburg, Augsburg and Munich.
Marcia is a retired librarian who worked at the Jackson County Library System and Minnesota West Community and Technical College.
The public is invited to attend. Refreshments will be served. Masks and social distancing are required in the Historical Museum for non-vaccinated individuals.
