LAKEFIELD - Volunteers added their GreenTouch to Kilen Woods State Park near Lakefield May 5.
Sponsored by Federated Rural Electric in Jackson, 30 volunteers helped spruce up Kilen Woods. About 15 Touchstone Energy Cooperatives across the state helped promote a clean-up day at the State Parks.
“It was a beautiful day to be outdoors enjoying the spring weather and making a difference at Kilen Woods State Park,” said Andrea Christoffer, Federated’s marketing and communications manager. “Volunteers picked up litter on trails, cleared overhanging branches on the trails, picked up downed branches in the campground, raked leaves at tent sites, moved gravel off the paved areas, replaced sod ripped up from snow removal, cleaned the office and park shelter, plus raked up leaves around the amphitheater seats.”
