The City of Worthington Planning Commission will hold two public hearings on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, for the purpose of considering the following business:

  • Annexation - Ridley USA, Inc., has requested annexation of 6,509 square feet of property it owns in Section 30 of Lorain Township, which abuts the corporate limits of the City. The legal description of the subject property under consideration is as follows:

That part of the Northwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 30, Township 102 North, Range 39 West, Nobles County, Minnesota, described as follows:
Commencing at the North Quarter corner of said Section 30; thence on an assumed bearing of North 90 degrees 00 minutes East, along the north line of said section, a distance of 275.00 feet to the Northwest corner of Tract 3 as recorded in Doc. No. 267428; thence South 0 degrees 01 minutes 30 seconds East, along the west line of said tract, a distance of 163.90 feet to the point of the tract to be described; thence North 89 degrees 58 minutes 30 seconds East a distance of 100.00 feet; thence South 0 degrees 01 minutes 30 seconds East, a distance of 65.09 feet; thence South 89 degrees 58 minutes 30 seconds West, a distance of 100.00 feet to the west line of said Tract 3 as recorded as Doc.   • Preliminary Plat - McDonalds USA, L.L.C., is seeking preliminary plat approval of McDonald's Addition, which is proposed to be a 2 lot planned commercial subdivision. The proposed subdivision is on approximately 3.188 acres located directly west of the intersection of Ray Drive and Humiston Avenue. Commencing at the East Quarter Corner of said Section 14; thence South 00 degrees 00 minutes 00 seconds East, (assumed bearing) along the East line of the Southeast Quarter of said Section 14, a distance of 1706.60 feet to a point on the south line of the north 400 feet of the Southeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of said Section 14, thence South 89 degrees 19 minutes 11 seconds West, along said south line, a distance of 360.10 feet to the point of beginning; thence continuing South 89 degrees 19 minutes 11 seconds West, along said south line, a distance of 9.73 feet; thence South 00 degrees 53 minutes 06 seconds East, a distance of 148.42 feet to the north line of a tract of land deeded to the City of Worthington and recorded and described in the office of the County Recorder in Document No. A324122; thence North 89 degrees 06 minutes 54 seconds East, along said north line, a distance of 83.61 feet; thence northwesterly and northerly, a distance of 118.97 feet along a nontangential curve concave to the northeast having a radius of 75.00 feet and a central angle of 90 degrees 53 minutes 06 seconds and a 106.88 foot chord which bears North 45 degrees 26 minutes 33 seconds West; thence North 00 degrees 00 minutes 00 seconds West, tangent to said curve, a distance of 72.23 feet to the point of beginning. The public hearings will be held in the City Council Chambers, at City Hall, 303 Ninth St., Worthington, Minnesota, at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 2, 2012. At the hearing, the Planning Commission will hear staff's report and public testimony and may take action. All interested persons are invited to attend and be heard.
