The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Rural Development is considering application for financial assistance sponsored by Joal Wind I, Joal Wind II, Joal Wind III, Joal Wind IV, Joal Wind V, Joal Wind VI, Joal Wind VII, Joal Wind VIII, Back Pasture Power I, Back Pasture Power II, Back Pasture Power III, Back Pasture Power IV, Back Pasture Power V, Back Pasture Power VI, Back Pasture Power VII, Back Pasture Power VIII, Sky Beans I, Sky Beans II, Sky Beans III, Sky Beans IV, Sky Beans V, Sky Beans VI, Sky Beans VII, Sky Beans VIII. The specific elements of this proposed action are to erect twenty four (24) 1.5 MW wind turbines in Sections 34 and 35 of Larkin Township, and Sections 3, 4,10, 11, 15, of Olney Township, Sections 25, 35, and 36 of Lismore Township Nobles County Minnesota. The turbines will have a hub height of 80 meters and rotor diameter of 82 meters.
If implemented, the proposed action would directly or indirectly convert twenty four (24) acres of important farmland. The purpose of this notice is to inform the public of this possible result and to request comments concerning (1) the impacts of the proposed location on Only, Larkin, and Lismore Township (2) alternative sites or actions that would avoid these impacts, and (3) methods that could be used to reduce these impacts.

Any person interested in commenting on the proposed action may do so by sending such comments within 30 days following the date of this publication.
