Resolution No. 3385

APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT

FOR BIDS.

WHEREAS, Pursuant to Resolution No. 3383, passed by the Council on March 23, 2009, the city engineer has prepared plans and specifica¬tions for the improvement of the following described street by extension of the municipal wastewater collection system:

Grand Avenue from 200 feet north of Oxford Street to Cecilee Street extended westerly;

and

WHEREAS, Pursuant to Resolution No. 3384, passed by the Council on March 23, 2009, the city engineer has prepared plans and specifica¬tions for the improvement of the following described street by extension of the municipal water distribution system:

North Crailsheim Road from Collegeway to 500 feet south;

and

WHEREAS, Said plans and specifications for said improvements have been presented to the Council for approval.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WORTHINGTON, MINNESOTA:

1. Such plans and specifications for said improvements, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, are hereby approved.

2. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official newspaper and Construction Bulletin an advertisement for bids upon the making of said improvements under such approved plans and specifications. The advertise¬ment shall be published for 21 days, shall specify the work to be done, shall state that bids will be received at the office of the City Clerk of the City of Worthington, Minnesota, until 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 27, 2009, at which time they will be publicly opened in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 303 Ninth Street, Worthington, Minnesota, by a Council designated committee, and bids and the responsibility of the bidders will be considered by the City Council at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 27, 2009, in the Council Chambers of City Hall. Any bidder whose responsibility is questioned during consideration of the bid will be given an opportunity to address the Council on the issue of responsibility. No bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or certified check payable to the Clerk for five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid.
