Run the Bend 5K planned Oct. 19

MILFORD, Iowa — The second annual Run the Bend 5K cross country race through Horseshoe Bend Wildlife Area will take place Oct. 19.

Registration begins at 10 a.m., and the run will commence at 11 a.m. Participants will begin on the north side of the park by the summer campsites and then will follow mowed trails for a 3.1-mile run through autumn trees. Cross the Little Sioux River via a footbridge and end near the tubing hill shelter on the south side of the park. Walkers are also invited to participate and enjoy the scenery.

Pre-register for the Run the Bend 5K at by Oct. 7 for early registration benefits, including a T-shirt.
