WORTHINGTON - Cub Scout Pack and Boy Scout Troop 134 will host a dedication and open house for its new home at the former Prairie View Golf Links, located two miles north of Worthington on Nobles County 25, at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
There will be a dedication to Brian Daiker, who died in December 2017. Daiker was a significant part of scouts, and a huge reason the scouts can now enjoy their new home.
There will be a short program and meal, and participants will be able to walk around and learn the scouts’ ideas for the future.
The Worthington City Council voted Tuesday to approve a lease agreement with the scouts.
Instead of paying rent, the scouts will install a furnace, pay for heat, provide all building maintenance and repairs and maintain the trails and grounds near the building. The city will pay for utilities and insurance.
