‘Sweet Caroline,’ ‘Amazing Grace’ head tonight’s concert

WORTHINGTON -- In the penultimate concert of the "Amazing" Worthington City Band's 125th season, "Sweet Caroline" and "Amazing Grace" are among the tunes scheduled for the night's program.

WORTHINGTON - In the penultimate concert of the “Amazing” Worthington City Band’s 125th season, “Sweet Caroline” and “Amazing Grace” are among the tunes scheduled for the night’s program.

 

At 7:30 p.m. tonight in Chautauqua Park, director Mike Peterson will lead the multi-generational band of instrumentalists through those numbers, as well as a trombone feature (“Trombones Triumphant”), “Candy Man” and a medley from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Phantom of the Opera.”

 

Colin O’Donnell will be the emcee, and Jean Johnson is providing the intermission entertainment.
