WORTHINGTON - The King Turkey Day Board of Directors, as is tradition each year, has come up with a theme for this year’s KTD festivities.

The theme for the 2019 King Turkey Day is “Peace, Love & Turkey Racing.” According to KTD President Doug Tate, because this year is the 50th anniversary of Woodstock, the board felt it would be a fun idea to tie that theme into this year’s festivities.

In addition to it being Woodstock’s anniversary, the board felt the theme was appropriate given the relationships that have developed between the communities of Worthington and Cuero, Texas.

King Turkey Day is set for Saturday, Sept. 14 and will include many events, including the annual King Turkey Day Grand Parade at 2 p.m. down 10th Street in Worthington. Parade entry forms will be available by mid-May. Anyone interested in entering a unit may contact the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce at 372-2919 or visit www.kingturkeyday.net .
