PIPESTONE - Freshmen Angel Martens and Michael Suda each won individual titles Monday at the Pipestone Area Triangular Cross Country Meet held at the Paulsen Field athletic grounds.

Martens clipped a winning 4,000-meter time of 15:48 in the girls’ meet, followed in the top 10 by sophomore teammate Livia Wallace (16:10), Southwest Christian/Edgerton sophomore Elise Ver Hey (16:55), SWC/E freshman Anika Brands (17:12), PA junior Maria Spanier (17:42), Hendricks junior Janessa Scotting (17:48), PA’s Rachel Skyberg (18:00), SWC/E senior Grace Buys (18:01), PA’s Karla Nelson (18:29) and PA’s Klara Perkens (18:33).

Suda ran the 5,000-meter boys’ course in 18:29. SWC/E junior Dillon Mulske (18:43), edged PA freshman Tyl Woelber (18:44) for second, but the Arrows had the next six places as sophomores Lucas Griebel (19:53) and Emerson Winter (20:05) were followed in the chute by junior Josh Homann (20:22), sophomore Matthew Kennedy (20:40) and seniors Bayley Colemer (21:50) and Jacoby Hunt (22:46).

PA won both team titles with perfect scores of 15, as neither SWC/E or Hendricks fielded full squads.
