OKOBOJI, Iowa — Short films from around the country will be shown as part of the 23rd annual Manhattan Short Film Festival at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Pearson Lakes Art Center.
The nine film festival finalists hail from nine countries with films from Australia, Finland, France, Iran, Israel, North Macedonia, Russia, State of Palestine and the U.S. The films use drama, comedy and animation to address a number of themes, ranging from identity to parenthood to the seemingly universal frustration caused by the Department of Motor Vehicles no matter the country.
Upon entry, attendees will be handed a voting card. At the conclusion of the show, they’ll be asked to vote for the one film and one actor/actress they think is best. Votes will be sent to Manhattan Short headquarters, and the winner will be announced at ManhattanShort.com on
Social distancing will require a limited audience, Masks will be required when attendees are not seated.
