Gaudete Brass to perform next month in region
SIOUX CENTER, Iowa — The Northwest Iowa Symphony Orchestra in conjunction with a generous grant from Sioux Center Recreation and Arts Council will present a guest concert by Gaudete Brass at 7:30 p.m. April 13 in the BJ Haan Auditorium on the campus of Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa.
Gaudete, pronounced “gow-DAY-tay” is a form of the Latin word for “joy.” Founded in 2004, the Gaudete Brass Quintet is devoted to the performance of brass chamber music at the highest level of excellence. Now ensemble-in-residence at Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts, the GBQ has also performed in venues such as Merkin Hall and
Symphony Space in New York City and Millennium Park in Chicago. The GBQ maintains a rigorous performance schedule while also recording three albums and presenting educational programs and concerts at prominent institutions such as The Juilliard School and Eastman School of Music.
