SIBLEY, Iowa — A rural Sibley man died early Tuesday when the tractor he was operating rolled, according to a press release from the Osceola County Sheriff's Office.
At approximately 2:45 a.m., the press release said, the Osceola County Sheriff's Office was called to a tractor rollover crash in the west ditch of the 1400 mile of Polk Avenue northeast of Sibley. Once on the scene, the operator of the tractor was found trapped underneath the tractor.
The operator of the tractor, Ned DeBoer , 49, was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim had been traveling north in the west ditch raking hay. The press release explained that It appeared the tractor dropped its left front wheel into a culvert, causing the tractor to roll over on top of the victim and trap him underneath.
The Osceola County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by the Osceola County Ambulance and the Sibley Fire Department.
