Q: First of all, big news — you re-opened earlier this month, right?
A: Yes, we opened again on Aug. 6. Our new hours of operation for the summer are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, and we’re closed on Saturday and Sunday. We’re following the rules set by the state to allow us to be open for business.
We are so excited to see all of our customers again, and we’re so thankful for their support. We’re also considering expanding our hours in the fall. If you’re unable to work in your space and you like this type of atmosphere, this is a great space to go and get things done.
Q: In addition to some rearranged furniture inside the coffee shop on the main floor and balcony for social distancing, are there any other notable changes?
A: We’re now offering online ordering, which means no more waiting here for your order or payment. You can download the Clover app on your phone, click on “Phileo’s Coffee & Eatery” and click on “order ahead.” You can also follow the link on our Facebook page to place your order and pay online.
Your order will then be waiting for you to grab and go. Look for the order with your name on it on the shelf near the stairway.
Q: Have you been doing any special promotions?
A: One thing we’re continuing is $3 coffee and roll day on Wednesdays for both dine-in and carry-out. Customers can choose caramel or frosted cinnamon. People should pre-order one day ahead for large pickup orders.
Q: Sure, Phileo’s has got lots of tasty sweets, but there are still plenty of great lunch options on the menu, correct?
A: Absolutely — we’ve got a selection of delicious sandwiches, wraps and salads. One of our old favorites, for example, is an apple walnut craisin salad or wrap, and two new favorites are a buffalo chicken salad or wrap and chicken bacon avocado ranch salad or wrap. The wraps are definitely popular, and we’re continuing to offer a special with $2 off any wrap choice on Fridays.
We’ll also be adding new soups and sandwiches in the fall, and we’ve expanded our breakfast menu to include a bagel breakfast sandwich, avocado toast and an la carte breakfast. And, there’s many other baked goodies coming soon, too.
Q: What else is important to Phileo’s?
A: We want to be a place for the community to come together. Phileo is the Greek word that depicts a brotherly/sisterly relationship. The dream of Journey Ministries (which created a second company to operate Phileo’s) is that Phileo's would declare to everyone that they belong and are embraced into the community of Worthington and the surrounding area.
