ST. PAUL — Mara Clarke of Dundee and Logan Einck of Pipestone were selected to receive inaugural Beginning Exhibitor Livestock Learning Experience (BELLE) grants from the Minnesota State Fair.

The new program awarded grants to 15 youth livestock exhibitors who committed to participating in the Minnesota State Fair for the first time in 2021. Grant funds were offered by the Minnesota State Fair Foundation, and included $500 each for 11 large-animal exhibitors and $250 each for four small-animal exhibitors to help offset costs of exhibiting livestock at the Minnesota State Fair. Participants will also be paired with a peer-to-peer mentor to help guide them through their showing experience.

Clarke received a grant as a swine exhibitor, while Einck’s grant is to exhibit sheep.

The 2021 Minnesota State Fair is Aug. 26 through Sept. 6.
