CITY OF WORTHINGTON CITY PLANNING COMMIS

CITY OF WORTHINGTON CITY PLANNING COMMISSION NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING The City of Worthington City Planning Commission will hold two (2) public hearings on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 for the purpose of considering the following business: Variance: Westminster Presbyterian Church has requested a variance from the requirements of City Code Section 155.075 (D). This section requires that no residentially zoned property may have accessory structures without a principal structure. A variance from this section would allow the Church to subdivide their property located at 230 Clary Street into 2 parcels and sell one of the new parcels. One of the parcels would contain empty ground and an existing garage, the other would contain the current Church building. The legal description of the subject property is as follows: Block 4, Stangeland Addition, City of Worthington, EXCEPT the South 31 feet thereof. Change of Zone: Eric Bruns has requested a change of zone for property located at 1923 Dover Street (current Red Carpet Inn) from its current ‘B-3’ General Business District zoning designation to ‘R-5’ Multi-Family, Medium and High Density District. This will allow the property to be used as short-term (month by month) apartments. The legal description of the subject property is as follows: The north 95 feet of Lot 3, and all of Lots 4, 5, and 6, Block 6, Clifton Addition, City of Worthington, Nobles County, Minnesota, AND That part of the west 40 feet of Clifton Avenue abutting Block 6, Clifton Addition to the City of Worthington, Nobles County, Minnesota, which lies north of the easterly projection of the south line of said Block 6, and south of the easterly projection of the south line of Lot 7 of said Block 6, AND That part of the alley between Lot 7 and Lots 4 through 6, Block 6, Clifton Addition to the City of Worthington, Nobles County, Minnesota, lying east of the southerly projection of the west line of Lot 7 of said Block 6, City of Worthington, Nobles County, Minnesota. The public hearings will be held in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 303 Ninth Street, Worthington, Minnesota, at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, October 4, 2022. At the hearings, the Planning Commission will hear staff’s report and public testimony and may take action. Those unable to be heard at the time of the hearings are invited to send written comments that must be received by 5:00 PM the day of the hearings via e-mail to Matt Selof at mselof@ci.worthington.mn.us; or mail to: Community Development, City of Worthington, P.O.
