The City of Worthington Planning Commission will hold two (2) public hearings on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 for the purpose of considering the following business:
Variance – Daryle Albersman has submitted a variance request on property he owns at 1123 Elmwood Avenue to encroach up to 8 feet into the 10-foot required side yard to construct a 336 square foot addition onto the existing garage. The legal description of the subject property under consideration is as follows:
Lot 9, Block 7, Okabena Heights, An Addition, City of Worthington, Nobles County, Minnesota.
Preliminary Plat – The City of Worthington submitted a request for a preliminary plat of a residential subdivision to be known as Cecilee Addition on an 11.29-acre tract of land the City currently owns to the East of Grand Ave to an extension of Cecilee Street. The plat would create 21 lots; 18 intended for single family residential, 1 for multi-family residential, 1 for commercial for the existing movie theater site and 1 outlot for a filtration pond. The legal description of the property under consideration is as follows:

The public hearings will be held in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 303 Ninth Street, Worthington, Minnesota, at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. At the hearings, the Planning Commission will hear staff’s report and public testimony and may take action. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, public meetings are being held in person and remotely via Zoom. Some or all planning commission members may participate in the meeting by telephone or other electronic means in accordance with Minnesota Statute 13D.021. All interested persons that wish to speak on the matter at the time of the hearings can do so in person or can speak and monitor the meeting remotely via Zoom at the following:
