Nobles County Board Summary Minutes February 15, 2022 Regular Board Meeting The Nobles Board of Commissioners met for a Regular Board Meeting in the Board of Commissioners room at the Government Center. Commissioners Gene Metz, Donald Linssen, Bob Paplow, Justin Ahlers and Robert S. Demuth were in attendance. • Approved agenda with the addition of the addendum. • Approved the consent agenda, which included proceedings from the February 01, 2021 Regular Board Meeting minutes, Travel Expenses paid February 11, 2022, Commissioners Warrants totaling $624,448.33, and Solid Waste and Recycle Hauling & Facility Permits for 2022. • Approved to commit to a joint bond with Jackson County regarding 3 ditches contingent on securing a bond council. • Approved resolution 202209 declaring the intent of the county to be reimbursed from bond proceeds. • Approved the 2022 township road allocations. • Approved a wind farm repowering agreement with Xcel Energy. • Approved a bid contract to Midwest Contracting, LLC in the amount of $3,440,892.75. • Approved a request from Prairie Holdings Group, Inc. & Joel and Julie Lorenz Rev. Living Trust to re-zone a 33.4 acre tract from agricultural preservation to general industry. • Approved to change an office support specialist position to an income maintenance case aide position. • Approved an agreement with Community and Economic Development Associates (CEDA) to manage a child care expansion project. • Approved a memorandum of agreement with Teamsters Local 320 for Nan Henning. • Approved a new position of an income maintenance case aide. • Approved a new position of a social services case aide. • Approved an amended personnel policy P-214B Emergency Closing of County Departments. • Approved the reclassification of the social worker position. • Approved the amendments to the Emergency Management Planning Advisory Committee (EMPAC) by-laws. • Approved the appointment of Edmund McHale to EMPAC as a member at large. • Approved Galen Benton to the Nobles County Park Board. • Acknowledged the County’s participation in a grant for the Nobles County Historical Society. • Approved for the requalification of participants who were disqualified from the Nobles Home Initiative program in 2021. • Approved a resolution in support of Adrian’s Safe Routes to School grant application. • No further business, the meeting adjourned at 10:54 a.m. The above represents a summary of the County Board actions on the listed date.
