Nobles County Board Summary Minutes October 04, 2022 Regular Board Meeting The Nobles Board of Commissioners met for a Regular Board Meeting in the Board of Commissioners room at the Government Center. Commissioners Gene Metz, Bob Paplow, Justin Ahlers and Robert S. Demuth attended. • Approved agenda as presented. • Recognized Geralda Pedersen, Child Support Officer on 35 years of service. • Recognized Dan Bosman, Jail Administrator on 20 years of service. • Recognized Chris Dybevick as the September Excellence in Performance recipient. • Approved the consent agenda, which included proceedings from the September 20, 2022 Regular Board Meeting, Travel Expenses paid September 23, 2022, Commissioners Warrants totaling $394,703.17, Summary of vendors paid over $2,000, Nobles & Jackson County JD ditch No. 9 – Bid Package #1 – Pay application #5 and a Purchase of Service Agreement for Community Services with ISD518 Community Education. • Re allocated $2,000,000 toward the Lismore Telephone Cooperative “Fiber to Home” broadband project. Additionally, committed $1,000,000 of Surplus County dollars and $250,000 per year for four years of Wind Energy money towards the project. • Appointed Commissioner Ahlers to the Joint County Ditch 30 board. • Renewed the medical examiner contract with River Valley Forensic Services. • Committed $2,500 towards the United Stated Canine Association Adopt a K-9 Cop grant. • Approved the flexibility to hire either a Public Health Nurse or a Registered Nurse. • Approved the purchase of a trailer for the Park Department not to exceed $9,000. • Approved the 2023 County contribution for employee health insurance. • Appointed Shelley Sweetman and Gary Schimbeno to a four-year term on the Red Rock Rural Water System board. • Appointed Earl De Wilde, Randy Kraus and Peter Petersen to a four-year term on the Lincoln Pipestone Rural Water System board. • Approved the County Auditor’s “Truth in Taxation” statement as required by state legislature. • Approved a Decommission Bond with Zephyr Wind, LLC. • Approved a quote from Clair Van Grouw Construction, Inc. for the replacement of Public Works windows for $7,764.41. • Approved a quote from Beltline Concrete, Inc. for the replacement and repair of the PJC front entrance sidewalk for $21,220.00. • Approved the purchase of a Tennant carpet cleaner for $16,480.79. • No further business, the meeting adjourned at 10:37 a.m. The above represents a summary of the County Board actions on the listed date.
