The Nobles Board of Commissioners met for its Regular Meeting in the Board of Commissioners Room in the Nobles County Government Center. Commissioners Justin Ahlers, Gene Metz, Matt Widboom, Robert S. Demuth and Donald Linssen were in attendance.
•Approved agenda with additions.
•Recognized Lori Winters on her retirement and 29 years of service to Nobles County.
•Recognized Administrator Tom Johnson, Deputy Administrator Bruce Heitkamp and Community Services Director Stacie Golombiecki as the Excellence in Performance recipients.
•Approved the consent agenda as presented, which included proceedings from the September 8, 2020 regular meeting, Meetings & Conferences - Travel Expenses and Auditor's and Commissioners Warrants totaling $560,325.97 and a Joint Powers Agreement with the State of Minnesota & Nobles County on behalf of the Attorney and Sheriff.
•Approved Drainage System Coordinator position requisition.
•Approved two Full time Correctional Officer position requisitions.
•Approved Legal Secretary position requisition.
•Approved Facilities Maintenance Lead position requisition.
•Approved Public Works to purchase a Tandem truck.
•Approved Northland Securities and Lincoln Pipestone Rural Water to move forward with a General Obligation Water Revenue Bonding process.
•Approved two Change Order's on the Data Center.
•Approved a Petition to Vacate an alley SW of Panda House.
•Approved an appointment to the Kanaranzi-Little Rock Watershed Board of Managers to Jason Kellen.
•Approved a reappointment to the Okabena-Ocheda Watershed Board of Managers to Casey Ingenthron.
•Approved the transfer of a Public Works truck to Facilities Maintenance and the addition of a snowplow for the amount of $12,383 or less.
•Approved the termination of a contract for sidewalk snow removal at the PJC.
•Approved a proposal from Epoxy Co. LLC for a two coat floor seal process at the PJC garage.
•Approved the purchase of a Bobcat to be used for snow removal at the PJC.
•Approved a Joint Powers Agreement for Nobles County, City of Worthington and the City of Rushmore for distribution of CARES Funds.
•Approved a Joint Powers Agreement for Nobles County, City of Worthington and the City of Round Lake for distribution of CARES Funds.
•Approved a Joint Powers Agreement for Nobles County and the City of Worthington for distribution of CARES Funds.
•Approved setting the preliminary tax levy for 2021 at an increase of 4% equivalent to $15,290,901.
•No further business, the meeting adjourned at 11:23 a.m.
