NOTICE PROPOSED ORDINANCE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, That the City Council of the City of Worthington, Minnesota is considering the adoption of an ordinance entitled “AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND TITLE XV OF THE CITY CODE OF WORTHINGTON, NOBLES COUNTY, MINNESOTA, TO REZONE PROPERTY FROM “R-2” (SINGLE FAMILY, LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT) TO “R-4” (MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT) The City Council of the City of Worthington, Do Ordain: Section I. In order to better protect and enhance the public health, safety and general welfare, the Worthington City Council hereby finds that it is necessary to modify the zoning district designation of certain areas of the City of Worthington from “R-2” – Single Family, Low Density Residential District to ‘R-4’ – Medium Density Residential District. Section II. The following legally described area, presently included in the “R-2” district, shall henceforth be included in the “R-4” district: Lots 3 through 10, Block 2, and lots 2 through 7, Block 3, Cecilee Addition, City of Worthington, Nobles County, Minnesota. Section III. The Official Zoning Map of the City of Worthington shall be amended to reflect the changes ordained in Section II of this Ordinance. Section IV. The City Clerk is hereby directed to file a certified copy of this ordinance in the office of the Recorder in and for the County of Nobles, State of Minnesota. Section V. Which proposed ordinance was given its first reading at a Regular Meeting of the City Council held on Monday, May 8, 2023. Said proposed ordinance will again be considered by the City Council at a Regular Meeting to be held at 5:30 p.m., on Monday, May 22, 2023 in the City Hall Council Chambers, 303 Ninth Street of said City.
