Charlie Albright to perform March 9 at auditorium

WORTHINGTON -- Pianist/composer/improviser Charlie Albright will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. March 9 at Memorial Auditorium Performing Arts Center. The event is the third concert of the year for the Worthington Concert Association.

WORTHINGTON - Pianist/composer/improviser Charlie Albright will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. March 9 at Memorial Auditorium Performing Arts Center. The event is the third concert of the year for the Worthington Concert Association.

Born in Centralia, Wash., Albright began piano lessons at age 3. He was accept to the Harvard College/New England Conservatory of Music joint program, where he completed his bachelor’s degree as a pre-med and economics major at Harvard and his master of music degree in piano performance at the conservatory. He recently earned his artist diploma from the Juilliard School of Music.

Albright has performed in concert with cellist Yo-Yo Ma as well as other prestigious musical groups. He has been praised by The New York Times for his “jaw-dropping technique and virtuosity meshed with a distinctive musicality.”

Admission to the concert is by season ticket only.
