Clarinets featured at tonight’s city band concert

WORTHINGTON — The clarinet section of the “Amazing” Worthington City Band will be highlighted on two numbers at tonight’s concert, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Chautauqua Park.

“Clarinets Allegro,” a peppy tune by F. D. Cofield, features the entire clarinet section, which will also play a prominent role in the jazzy “Sentimental Journey.”

Other selections on the program include “Andy’s Theme” from “The Andy Griffith Show,” “On a Clear Day” and two marches — “The Military Escort” march and “The Peacemaker March.”

Mike Peterson conducts the band, while Gordon Moore serves as the concert’s emcee. Davis Moore will provide intermission entertainment.

In case of inclement weather, the concert will take place at Memorial Auditorium Performing Arts Center.
