Library News: Week of Dec. 20, 2020

The Nobles County Library in Worthington and the Adrian Branch Library will close at 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 24, and be closed Friday, Dec. 25, in observance of Christmas.

The Nobles County Library, 407 12th St., Worthington, is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays. The Adrian Branch Library, 214 Maine Ave., Adrian, is open from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and noon to 5 p.m. Friday.

Children’s Programming in Worthington

  • Students in grades K-5 are invited to join us for a New Year’s Eve Party. Party times are 10 a.m. to noon or 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 29; or 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 30. Please pre-register for a party time by Dec. 28.

  • Please stop by the library or call 295-5340 to sign up for programs, as class size is limited.

  • Story Time for preschool and younger meets from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday.

  • After-School programming for Thursday cancelled due to early closure.

COVID-19 guidelines

  • Please maintain a distance of six feet from non-family members when inside and wear a mask if you are able.

  • In Worthington, children under 16 must be accompanied by their parent or guardian between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. (except during organized activities).

  • Hand sanitizer is available near the front door. Spot cleaning is done throughout the day and after hours.

  • Please bring exact change or the nearest dollar amount for copies, scans, faxes, etc. Large bills cannot be accepted.

New at the Library

Friends of the Library Book Club meets at 7 p.m. Dec. 28 via Zoom. The book being discussed is “The Guise of Another” by Allen Eskens. Contact the library if you’d like to participate.

New books for adults: “Bloodline” by Jess Lourey, “What Color is Your Parachute?” by Richard N. Bolles with Katharine Brooks, “Joe Biden; The Life, The Run and What Matters Now” by Evan Osnos, “The Last of the Moon Girls” by Barbara Davis and “The Daydream Cabin” by Carolyn Brown.

New books for children: “Luna’s Yum Yum Dim Sum” by Natasha Yim and “Good Dog; Home is Where the Heart Is” by Cam Higgins.
